Ravens Redemption

2025 Baltimore Ravens Season Preview: Built to Finish

The Baltimore Ravens enter the 2025 NFL season not as a rebuilding team, but as a reloaded contender—one with a top-five defense, an MVP-caliber quarterback, and a renewed sense of urgency.

2024 Recap: Close, but Not Enough

The Ravens finished 12–5 in 2024, claiming the AFC North title behind a dominant defense and a healthy Lamar Jackson. The offense leaned heavily on the league’s most physical backfield, with newly acquired Derrick Henry posting a career-high 1,921 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns.

Lamar Jackson delivered one of his most efficient seasons yet, leading the NFL in total touchdowns, passer rating, and QBR. The defense ranked top five in scoring and featured multiple standouts:

  • Roquan Smith: 5th in total tackles

  • Kyle Van Noy: 4th in sacks

  • Marlon Humphrey: 3rd in interceptions

Baltimore dismantled Pittsburgh in the Wild Card round, then narrowly lost to Buffalo in the Divisional Round—falling two points short of another AFC Championship appearance.

Offseason Moves: Retention and Recalibration

Instead of overhauling, GM Eric DeCosta focused on continuity and targeted upgrades:

  • Re-signed key starters: Lamar Jackson, Roquan Smith, Ronnie Stanley, Justin Madubuike

  • Extended head coach John Harbaugh

  • Signed WR DeAndre Hopkins, adding a reliable perimeter threat to complement Zay Flowers

  • Maintained offensive identity with Derrick Henry returning as the centerpiece of the run game

The Ravens also held onto their defensive core while adding depth in the secondary and trenches.

Current Roster Outlook: No Holes, High Expectations

Offense

  • QB: Lamar Jackson (2024 league leader in total TDs and passer rating)

  • RB: Derrick Henry (NFL’s leading rusher in 2024)

  • WRs: Zay Flowers, DeAndre Hopkins, Rashod Bateman

  • TE: Mark Andrews (expected to return healthy)

  • OL: Anchored by Ronnie Stanley, with improved depth

Baltimore’s offensive approach will continue to center around efficiency and physicality. With Jackson’s dual-threat ability and Henry’s downhill style, the Ravens remain the most punishing run-first team in the league.

Defense

  • Front seven: Roquan Smith, Kyle Van Noy, Justin Madubuike

  • Secondary: Marlon Humphrey, Kyle Hamilton, with added depth via free agency

  • Scheme: Aggressive, zone-heavy pressure packages that ranked top five in scoring defense in 2024

This is a defense capable of controlling games and creating turnovers, even against elite offenses.

2025 Goals: Break the Ceiling

The Ravens have made the playoffs in five of the last six seasons, but postseason success has been limited. Despite strong regular-season performances, they’ve failed to reach the Super Bowl during the Lamar Jackson era.

2025 isn’t about potential. It’s about results.

They’ve retained their stars. They’ve upgraded where it counts. They’re healthy. They’re experienced. And after several near-misses, this team is no longer looking to take the next step—they’re demanding it.

Draft Capital

Baltimore holds the 27th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Expect them to target:

  • Additional pass rush help

  • Depth at corner

  • Potential offensive line insurance

With one of the most balanced rosters in the NFL, they can afford to draft best player available or trade up if a difference-maker slips.

Bottom Line

The 2025 Baltimore Ravens are Super Bowl ready. No distractions. No rebuild. Just unfinished business.

If they stay healthy and execute in January, there’s no ceiling.
