Bengals Sign Cam Grandy After Erick All Moves to IR: Week 8 Fantasy Impact
Updated Oct. 27, 2026, 2:50 p.m. CT. Cincinnati has turned to a familiar tight end after a significant injury changed the depth chart.
The Bengals signed Cam Grandy to the active roster from the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad and placed Erick All Jr. on reserve/injured, the team announced Tuesday afternoon. Cincinnati identified All's injury only as a knee issue. NFL Network reported that the injury is believed to be a torn ACL, so that diagnosis should be treated as reporting rather than a team-confirmed medical finding.
For fantasy managers, the transaction matters more as a warning about Cincinnati's changing tight-end rotation than as a reason to rush Grandy into lineups. His familiarity with the offense gives him a path to dress quickly, but his NFL résumé points to blocking and depth work before a bankable receiving role.
What the Bengals confirmed
Cincinnati's official roster notice was published at 1:24 p.m. CT on Oct. 27. It moved All to reserve/injured, signed Grandy to the 53-man roster from Minnesota's practice squad, signed tight end Caden Prieskorn to the practice squad and placed tight end Josh Kattus on the practice squad injured list.
That sequence shows the club needed more than a one-for-one replacement. It rebuilt both the game-day and developmental layers of the position after All's injury. Grandy is the player with the clearest immediate path because he already spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons in Cincinnati.
Why Cam Grandy's history matters
Grandy is not arriving as an unknown scheme fit. The 6-foot-5 tight end appeared in 13 games with seven starts for the Bengals across 2024 and 2025. The Vikings' official bio credits him with seven career receptions for 35 yards: five catches for 28 yards in 2024 and two for seven yards in 2025.
Those totals are the most important fantasy signal. Grandy can help Cincinnati replace snaps, protection assignments and run-game responsibilities without automatically replacing All's targets. His prior Bengals experience may shorten the installation period, but familiarity does not erase a career receiving sample of seven catches.
Bengals tight-end depth chart impact
The immediate projection is role fragmentation. Cincinnati can ask Grandy to handle familiar in-line duties while distributing passing-game work among its established options. The team may also change personnel usage rather than funneling All's entire role to one player.
That distinction matters for Week 8. A roster promotion guarantees Grandy a contract and a place on the 53-man roster; it does not guarantee an active-game designation, a route share or red-zone targets. The first useful evidence will be practice participation, game-day status and whether he runs routes when the Bengals face Tennessee.
Fantasy football verdict
Standard redraft leagues: Leave Grandy on waivers. There is not enough target history or role certainty to justify a roster spot.
Deep tight-end-premium leagues: Add Grandy to a watchlist. A speculative bid should stay at 0% to 1% of FAAB unless later practice or lineup information shows that he will run a meaningful number of routes.
Dynasty leagues: He is a reasonable end-of-roster monitor in very deep formats because active-roster status and prior system experience create opportunity. The realistic base case, however, remains a blocking-heavy complementary role.
DFS and prop markets: Do not project volume from the signing alone. If books post reception or yardage markets, wait for game-day actives and any snap guidance. A low number is not automatically value when the route share could be minimal.
The strongest case for a bigger role
The bullish argument is straightforward: Grandy knows Cincinnati's terminology, has started games for the club and was signed directly to the active roster rather than the practice squad. In a short preparation window, coaches may trust a familiar player faster than a newcomer.
Even so, the counterweight is stronger for fantasy purposes. Trust as a blocker can put a tight end on the field without producing targets. Grandy's seven career receptions are evidence that snaps and receiving volume have not moved together so far.
What to watch next
Wednesday's first Week 8 injury report is the next checkpoint, followed by the Bengals' game-day inactive list. The most actionable Sunday data will be Grandy's offensive snap rate, routes run and red-zone alignment. If he is active but stays mostly in protection or run-blocking packages, the move remains real-football depth with little fantasy value.
If Grandy immediately runs routes on a meaningful share of Joe Burrow's dropbacks, the watchlist recommendation can change. Until that evidence arrives, fantasy managers should treat the signing as a depth-chart update, not a breakout signal.
