DJ Moore Out vs. Raiders: Bills Week 6 Fantasy Impact

Buffalo Bills wide receiver DJ Moore is inactive for Sunday's Week 6 road game against the Las Vegas Raiders because of a shoulder injury. Moore was listed as questionable after missing Wednesday and Thursday practice, then returning in a limited capacity Friday. The official inactive list confirms he will miss a second consecutive game.

The immediate fantasy decision is settled: Moore cannot be used against Las Vegas. The more important forward-looking questions are how Buffalo divides his routes and targets, whether the shoulder allows him to practice fully before Week 7 and whether another receiver establishes a role that survives after he returns.

What the Bills confirmed

Buffalo's final injury report listed Moore as questionable. Head coach Joe Brady said Moore and the other questionable players had been doing walkthrough work and that the club would judge how they felt after Friday's session. Moore was limited Friday after two missed practices, but that progress was not enough for game clearance.

The official NFL inactive list then included Moore for Bills-Raiders. That is a game-status confirmation, not a new diagnosis. Buffalo has not publicly established a long-term timetable, so fantasy managers should avoid turning one more missed game into an unsupported multiweek projection.

How Buffalo replaces Moore

There is no guarantee that one receiver inherits Moore's full job. Buffalo can redistribute work by formation: outside routes can move to another boundary receiver, short targets can flow to the slot and tight ends, and running backs can absorb checkdowns. The Bills may also use personnel groupings that reduce the need for a direct one-for-one replacement.

For Josh Allen, the key issue is not simply losing one name from the lineup. Moore's absence can change where the first read goes and how often Buffalo attacks outside the numbers. Allen still carries elite individual value because of his arm and rushing role, but the distribution of passing production becomes less predictable.

Joshua Palmer entered the weekend questionable with his own shoulder injury, so managers should not assume he automatically takes every vacated opportunity. Keon Coleman and Buffalo's tight ends can gain routes or targets, but pregame availability and early usage matter more than a theoretical depth-chart bump.

Fantasy football plan

Moore remains a hold in ordinary redraft leagues. A second absence is frustrating, but the Bills allowed him to return to limited work Friday and have not announced an injured-reserve move. Managers should wait for the first Week 7 practice report before making a drop decision.

In deeper leagues, the best replacement is the Bills pass catcher who combines active status with an established route share. Do not chase a reserve solely because Moore is out. Targets are earned through alignment, play design and trust, and Buffalo may spread the missing volume across several positions.

Allen remains a start. Moore's absence can lower the probability of a clean passing ceiling, but it does not remove Allen's rushing floor or Buffalo's ability to score through other players. Same-game and daily formats should react to confirmed routes and active personnel rather than assuming one beneficiary.

What to watch for Week 7

The next checkpoint is Wednesday's practice report. A full practice would be the strongest sign that Moore is trending toward a return. Another missed session or limited-only week would keep his status uncertain. Managers should also watch whether Buffalo describes the shoulder as a pain-management issue, a strength issue or something that still limits contact.

Football Nation's conclusion: keep Moore rostered, treat every replacement as role-dependent and let the Week 7 practice progression decide his next lineup status. The inactive list answers Sunday; it does not answer the rest of October.
