Dolphins vs Vikings Player Props: Five Prices After Jefferson and Achane News

4 min read

Justin Jefferson being out and De'Von Achane's season ending injury create obvious fantasy questions. They do not create a guaranteed allocation of betting wins to the next names on the depth chart. Football Nation's Week 4 props review uses five actual touchdown quotes and asks how each player could receive the decisive scoring opportunity, with a price limit and a countercase that keeps the injury narrative in proportion.

Miami visits Minnesota at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, October 4, at 3:05 p.m. CT. The early October 3 BetMGM snapshot showed the Vikings favored by 10 points with a total of 38.5. The favorite's large spread supports one possible game script, but Minnesota's modest early offensive yardage means the number should not be treated as proof of a flood of offensive touchdowns.

Break even is 100 divided by decimal odds. It is the arithmetic hit rate needed at that payout, not an FN scoring probability, and it has not removed sportsbook margin. The minimum entries are subjective price rules rather than outputs from a calibrated player model. Every recorded quote below is short of its stated floor, so these are watchlist candidates with explicit pass conditions.

Aaron Jones: a favored script is already reflected in the price

Jones has no Friday game designation after an earlier rest listing. FN's scoring route is Minnesota maintaining a lead and preserving the run when it reaches scoring range. The Vikings' offense has converted 80% of early red zone visits into touchdowns, but that team result does not assign the finishing play to Jones. FN would require 1.95 rather than the checked 1.72. The countercase is a receiving finish, another rushing option or fewer useful offensive possessions than the spread suggests. The arithmetic hurdle above 58% is demanding even for a back on the favored side of this matchup.

Jordan Addison: missing targets are not a touchdown forecast

Jefferson's absence gives Addison a reason to appear on a scoring watchlist, but FN does not simply transfer every missing target to him. Miami can change its coverage attention, and Minnesota can divide the work among multiple receiving options. Consideration starts at 2.50 with the expected route participation intact. The checked 2.25 is below the rule. The countercase is the Vikings running to finish, Addison helping move the offense between the 20 yard lines or coverage directing the final throw elsewhere. A receiver can benefit from more work without scoring, so the injury story needs to be tested against the exact market.

T.J. Hockenson: an inside answer with competing uses

Hockenson offers a receiving route if Minnesota needs a quick answer in the middle or a short scoring throw. FN would want 3.10 or better with a normal receiving role. The 2.90 snapshot is a wait. The countercase is protection responsibilities, a rushing finish or another receiver winning the decisive opportunity. Minnesota has averaged only 137 passing yards per game in the TeamRankings sample, so the available passing production should not be treated as unlimited. FN is identifying a plausible tactical route, not publishing a target share or touchdown probability that has not been sourced or modeled.

Ollie Gordon II: the Achane absence leaves a shared decision

Gordon's 3.90 is the longer Miami quote on this list, but Achane's absence does not guarantee him every important carry. The Vikings' official preview expects Gordon and Jaylen Wright to share the replacement work. Wright practiced fully Friday without a game designation. FN would require 4.25 and a credible goal line role before reconsidering. The countercase is Wright handling the useful touch, Willis keeping the ball or Minnesota preventing the offense from reaching scoring position. Miami has struggled to finish drives, so a plausible increase in opportunities must be weighed against the difficulty of converting the opportunity it actually gets.

Jauan Jennings: a receiving alternative needs a real finishing role

Jennings appears on Minnesota's checked touchdown board and can be considered as a receiving alternative while Jefferson is unavailable. FN's minimum is 4.25, compared with the recorded 4.099. The case requires the final personnel and expected route work to support a meaningful scoring chance. The countercase is limited targets, the Vikings choosing to run near the goal line or Addison and Hockenson absorbing the decisive throws. A longer payout does not by itself establish an advantage over the shorter receiving options. FN would want the opportunity and the number to improve together, rather than betting solely because the injury has made the name more visible.

The final injury check and the second quote

Minnesota ruled out Jefferson, cornerback Charles Demmings and punter Brett Thorson. Blake Cashman carried no game designation. Miami ruled out Rob Beal Jr., Caleb Douglas and Storm Duck. Those Friday statuses establish who is already unavailable, while Sunday's inactive list remains the final check for the active group. Do not equate an available back with an established division of replacement work.

DraftKings Network's separate board quoted Jones at minus 155, about 1.645 decimal. BetMGM's 1.72 was longer in the checked comparison, but both were below FN's 1.95 floor. This is a comparison between two published quotes, not a consensus estimate or a documented movement history. The actual offered price and touchdown settlement rules need to match the decision being made.

FN's first revisit is Hockenson at 3.10, with Gordon considered only after the backfield role becomes clearer and 4.25 is available. All five are passes at the recorded prices. Several Minnesota scorers on one ticket depend on the same offense creating more touchdowns and compete for some of the same finishes. Jefferson's absence is a meaningful personnel change; it is not evidence that every remaining receiving touchdown market has become an independent edge.
