Giants Finish Preseason Undefeated With 42-10 Win Over Patriots
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Aug. 22, 2025 — The New York Giants closed out their preseason with a decisive 42-10 victory over the New England Patriots on Thursday night at MetLife Stadium. The win gave New York a 3-0 record in exhibition play, their first unbeaten preseason since 2019. Across those three games, the Giants outscored opponents 107-47.

Jaxson Dart Clears Concussion Protocol, Throws TD
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, the Giants’ first-round pick from Ole Miss, made the start with veteran Russell Wilson and most starters resting. Dart completed 6 of 12 passes for 81 yards and one touchdown, highlighted by a 50-yard connection to Gunner Olszewski and a short touchdown pass to Greg Dulcich.
He was briefly evaluated for a concussion after fumbling on a scramble when tackled by Jack Gibbens, but cleared protocol. Head coach Brian Daboll confirmed he was fine, saying Dart “got the wind knocked out of him.” Dart’s preseason totals: 32 of 47 passing for 372 yards, three touchdowns, zero interceptions, plus six rushes for 52 yards and one rushing TD.
Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito Add 4 Touchdowns
As planned, Jameis Winston entered after Dart’s first-quarter appearance. Winston threw a 27-yard touchdown to Jalin Hyatt but also threw one interception, finishing 4 of 8 for 47 yards.
Tommy DeVito replaced Winston and delivered a standout performance: 17 of 20 passing for 198 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions.
Skattebo Makes Giants Debut
Running back Cam Skattebo, who missed time in camp with a hamstring injury, saw his first snaps at the NFL level. He logged three carries for 12 yards, including a 4-yard longest run.
Rookie Abdul Carter, TJ Moore Highlight Defense
Linebacker Abdul Carter, drafted third overall, played limited snaps but was named a captain alongside Dart for the pregame coin toss.
Rookie defensive back TJ Moore made the defensive play of the night, returning an interception 44 yards for a touchdown. He was later carted off after suffering a right leg injury on special teams late in the fourth quarter. Teammates Wilson, Dart, and Winston helped him onto the cart. Coach Daboll: “It wasn’t good. I feel for that young man.”
Patriots Rest Starters, Play Wooldridge the Entire Game
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel held out most starters, including rookie quarterback Drake Maye, backup Josh Dobbs, and receiver Kendrick Bourne (leg injury).
Undrafted rookie Ben Wooldridge played all four quarters, finishing 10 of 20 passing for 82 yards, one touchdown, one interception. Jeremiah Webb caught three passes for 31 yards and the team’s only touchdown, while running back Shane Watts posted 15 carries for 52 yards.
Vrabel explained: “Decided to do that and give us a chance to evaluate some other players. Where we’re at is still building and developing.”
