Archive: NFL Week 3 Sunday Player Props: Five Price-Sensitive Edges
Archived Week 3 pregame market analysis checked September 26, 2026. The games have been played. Listed prices and opinions describe that original snapshot and are historical, with Kenneth Walker's actual Kansas City at Miami matchup corrected.
The best Week 3 Sunday player-prop values are Derrick Henry over 89.5 rushing yards, CeeDee Lamb over 81.5 or 82.5 receiving yards, James Cook over 79.5 rushing yards, Jaxon Smith-Njigba over 90.5 receiving yards and Kenneth Walker III under 85.5 rushing yards. The number matters as much as the player: none of these is an automatic play after the listed walk-away point.
Football Nation checked BetMGM, bet365 and the broader consensus market at 7:17 a.m. Central on Saturday, September 26. Before making a decision Sunday, refresh the price and review the complete Week 3 injury report. Lines vary by state and can move quickly. This is independent editorial analysis, not a guarantee.
The five-prop board
Derrick Henry over 89.5 rushing yards — estimated 55–57% — playable through 90.5 at -115 or better.
CeeDee Lamb over 81.5 or 82.5 receiving yards — estimated 54–56% — pass at 85.5 or higher.
James Cook over 79.5 rushing yards — estimated 54–56% — pass at 82.5 or higher.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba over 90.5 receiving yards — estimated 54–56% — playable through 91.5.
Kenneth Walker III under 85.5 rushing yards — estimated 53–55% — no play if the market falls to 84 or lower.
How to read the estimates: The probabilities are Football Nation ranges built from role, recent volume, opponent, injury context and likely game script. They are not sportsbook projections. A standard -110 price needs about 52.4% to break even before considering uncertainty.
What moved and what did not
BetMGM’s player pages listed Henry at 90.5, Lamb at 81.5, Cook at 79.5, Smith-Njigba at 91.5 and Walker at 85.5. Saturday’s consensus board showed 89.5 for Henry, 82.5 for Lamb, 79.5 for Cook, 90.5 for Smith-Njigba and 84 for Walker. Those differences show broader-market direction; they do not prove that one sportsbook itself moved every number. Bet365’s current Week 3 slate and its Chargers–Bills prop coverage supplied the second legal-market check.
That distinction changes the card. Henry and Smith-Njigba became slightly more attractive at consensus. Lamb became less attractive by one yard. Walker is a selection only at the stale-high 85.5; at 84, the edge disappears.
1. Derrick Henry over 89.5 rushing yards vs. Dallas
Confirmed facts: Baltimore lists Henry with 40 carries for 212 yards and four rushing touchdowns through two games, an average of 5.3 yards per carry. The Ravens are favored in the highest-total environment on this card, and the matchup is already covered in Football Nation’s Ravens–Cowboys Week 3 preview.
Football Nation analysis: The cleanest path is volume. If Baltimore plays from ahead or keeps the game within one possession, Henry can reach 90 yards with 17 to 20 attempts without needing an explosive touchdown run. Rio’s warm conditions add another reason for Baltimore to test Dallas physically rather than build the offense around repeated deep drops.
Strongest case against it: Dallas can force Baltimore into an aggressive passing script, and Lamar Jackson can absorb goal-line and scramble volume. A negative game state would reduce Henry’s fourth-quarter attempts. Walk away: Do not chase above 90.5 or lay worse than -115.
2. CeeDee Lamb over 81.5 or 82.5 receiving yards vs. Baltimore
Confirmed facts: The Cowboys list Lamb with 13 catches for 197 yards and three touchdowns through two games. He produced eight catches for 153 yards and two scores in Week 2. Dallas is an underdog in a game with a total above 50, which supports pass volume even if the Cowboys trail.
Football Nation analysis: Lamb does not need a perfect offensive night. He needs Dallas to keep funneling high-leverage targets toward its best receiver. The likely script offers both early neutral-situation work and late catch-up opportunities. The 81.5 at BetMGM is the best listed number; the consensus 82.5 remains playable.
Strongest case against it: Baltimore can devote safety help to Lamb and force Dallas to win elsewhere. An early Cowboys lead would also reduce the expected passing volume. Walk away: Pass at 85.5 or higher, or at prices worse than -115.

3. James Cook over 79.5 rushing yards vs. Los Angeles
Confirmed facts: The Chargers’ official preview credits Cook with 192 rushing yards at 5.6 per attempt through two games. Buffalo’s injury report says Ty Johnson is cleared to make his season debut, while the Chargers ruled out defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson. The full game case is in Football Nation’s Chargers–Bills preview.
Football Nation analysis: Cook’s 79.5 has not changed between the BetMGM snapshot and Saturday consensus. Buffalo is favored at home, and Cook can clear this number on 15 to 17 efficient carries. The defensive interior absence matters more to the rushing-yards over than it does to an anytime-touchdown price that already carries a heavy premium.
Strongest case against it: Ty Johnson’s return can take passing-down work, and Josh Allen can finish drives himself. A shootout could also pull Buffalo away from the run. Walk away: Pass at 82.5 or higher and avoid paying worse than -115.
4. Jaxon Smith-Njigba over 90.5 receiving yards at Washington
Confirmed facts: Seattle reports that Smith-Njigba caught nine passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns in Week 2, giving him 17 catches for 277 yards and four scores through two games. Sam Darnold returned to full practice Thursday and Friday. Washington ruled out Jayden Daniels, Frankie Luvu, Nick Cross and Chig Okonkwo.
Football Nation analysis: The market trimmed Smith-Njigba from 91.5 at BetMGM to a 90.5 consensus. Seattle’s quarterback clearance protects the target quality, and Smith-Njigba’s early-season role supports another double-digit-target path. Washington’s offensive absences can lower the game’s overall pace, but Seattle still has reason to feature its most productive receiver.
Strongest case against it: Seattle is favored by a touchdown, and a comfortable lead could turn the second half toward Seattle's running game. Rain in Landover deserves a Sunday wind check. Walk away: Play through 91.5 only; pass at 94.5 or higher.
5. Kenneth Walker III under 85.5 rushing yards at Miami
Confirmed facts: Kansas City’s player page lists Walker with 47 carries for 290 yards, a 6.2-yard average, plus 369 yards from scrimmage through two games. NFL reporting says Andy Reid wants to reduce Walker’s workload slightly after 56 total touches. Football Nation’s Chiefs–Dolphins Week 3 preview explains the matchup and Miami heat context.
Football Nation analysis: This is a number-shopping under, not a bet against Walker’s talent. BetMGM’s 85.5 leaves more room than the 84-yard consensus. The workload comment, travel to Miami and the possibility that Kansas City manages a large lead with more backs create several paths to fewer than 86 rushing yards.
Strongest case against it: Walker has been efficient enough to beat the number on modest volume, and a Kansas City lead can still produce 18 carries. Miami’s defense may not force the Chiefs away from their best runner. Walk away: Only consider under 85.5 at -115 or better. At 84 or lower, there is no recommended play.
The workload context is discussed directly in this public NFL news status:
Sunday checkpoints before acting
Recheck the Cowboys–Ravens Rio injury inactives and the exact Lamb and Henry numbers.
The original Seattle receiving case depended on wind and rain in Landover; Walker's separate case concerned Kansas City at Miami.
Confirm Cook remains 79.5 after Buffalo announces inactives.
Use under 85.5 for Walker only; do not treat under 84 as the same recommendation.
If a price moves beyond -115, compare the implied probability with the Football Nation estimate instead of chasing.
Football Nation conclusion
Henry over 89.5 is the strongest blend of role and price, while Lamb over 81.5 is the best number if it remains available. Cook and Smith-Njigba are secondary plays at their listed thresholds. Walker under is deliberately conditional: it belongs on the card only at 85.5. The practical edge on Sunday is discipline—shop the exact number, verify the final inactive list and pass when the market crosses the stated limit.
