NFL Week 8 Injury Report: Key Updates on Lamar Jackson, Garrett Wilson, Nico Collins, and More

The NFL’s 2025 season is nearing its midpoint, and health is becoming as crucial as performance. Every team is navigating the physical grind of the schedule, and several title contenders are adjusting to costly injuries ahead of Week 8.


Recent matchups left a trail of major names sidelined, including Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels, Carolina’s Bryce Young, and Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans, all ruled out after suffering injuries in Week 7. As a result, multiple teams are turning to backups across key positions, including Minnesota, which will once again start Carson Wentz against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football.Below is a comprehensive team-by-team look at Week 8 injuries entering the weekend:


Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Chargers (-3)

Vikings: FB C.J. Ham (hand) and LB Andrew Van Ginkel (neck) are out. OT Christian Darrisaw (knee), OT Brian O’Neill (knee), QB J.J. McCarthy (knee), RB Aaron Jones (hamstring), and RB Zavier Scott (wrist) are all questionable.


Head coach Kevin O’Connell confirms Carson Wentz will start again, with rookie J.J. McCarthy still recovering from his ankle injury. McCarthy will serve as the emergency third quarterback behind Wentz and Max Brosmer.


Chargers: RB Hassan Haskins (hamstring) is out. OT Joe Alt (ankle), OT Austin Deculus (ankle), DT Jamaree Caldwell (illness), LB Troy Dye (thumb), DB Elijah Molden (thumb), and OL Trey Pipkins (knee) are questionable. With Haskins sidelined and both Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton on injured reserve, rookie Kimani Vidal is expected to lead the backfield.



Buffalo Bills (-7) at Carolina Panthers

Bills: WR Curtis Samuel (neck), TE Dalton Kincaid (oblique), and LB Matt Milano (pectoral) practiced on a limited basis. WR Josh Palmer (ankle) sat out again and appears unlikely to play.


Panthers: QB Bryce Young (ankle) did not practice Wednesday but remains day-to-day. CB Jaycee Horn had a scheduled rest day, while G Damien Lewis (shoulder) and LB Princely Umanmielen (ribs) were limited.



New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-7.5)

Giants: Edge Brian Burns (foot), CB Paulson Adebo (knee), and S Jevon Holland (knee) missed practice. K Graham Gano is on track to return from IR.


Eagles: Edge Azeez Ojulari (unknown) remains out, and veteran Brandon Graham’s availability is uncertain after his brief return. WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) did not practice.



Chicago Bears at Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)

Ravens: QB Lamar Jackson practiced for the first time since Week 4 after a hamstring injury and could return this weekend.


Bears: WR DJ Moore (hip), CB Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder), RB D’Andre Swift (groin), TE Cole Kmet (back), and RB Roschon Johnson (back) all missed practice. DT Grady Jarrett (knee) and OL Braxton Jones (knee) were limited participants.



New York Jets at Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5)

Jets: QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) should be ready if named the starter. WR Garrett Wilson (knee) and CB Sauce Gardner (concussion) did not practice. RB Breece Hall (knee) and DE Jermaine Johnson II (ankle) were limited.


Bengals: DE Cam Sample (knee) and CB Marco Wilson (hamstring) missed practice. DE Trey Hendrickson (hip) was limited.



Cleveland Browns at New England Patriots (-7)

Browns: TE David Njoku (knee) returned to practice. WR Jerry Jeudy (knee) remained sidelined. CB Denzel Ward (hip) practiced in a limited role.


Patriots: WR Stefon Diggs (chest) was limited. LB Elijah Ponder (knee) and S Craig Woodson (ankle) did not practice.



San Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans (-1.5)

Texans: WR Nico Collins remains in concussion protocol and did not practice, while WR Christian Kirk (hamstring) is still out.


49ers: RB Christian McCaffrey and LT Trent Williams both received veteran rest. WR Ricky Pearsall (knee), DB Deommodore Lenoir (quadriceps), DLs Bryce Huff (hamstring) and Yetur Gross-Matos (knee/hamstring), and OL Jake Brendel (hamstring) all missed practice.



Miami Dolphins at Atlanta Falcons (-7.5)

Dolphins: TE Darren Waller was placed on injured reserve with a pectoral injury.


Falcons: DE Jalon Walker (groin), LB Divine Deablo (forearm), and DB Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring) didn’t practice. OT Jake Matthews (ankle), RB Tyler Allgeier (hip/knee), and WR Darnell Mooney (hamstring) were limited.



Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4.5) at New Orleans Saints

Buccaneers: WR Mike Evans (concussion/collarbone) is out. RB Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder), WR Chris Godwin (fibula), OLB Haason Reddick (ankle/knee), WR Emeka Egbuka (hamstring), LB Lavonte David (knee/rib), and QB Teddy Bridgewater (dental) all missed practice.


Saints: WR Chris Olave (ankle), CB Alontae Taylor (personal), and DE Chase Young (illness) did not practice. RB Alvin Kamara (ankle) and TE Juwan Johnson (neck) were limited.



Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts (-14)

Titans: DT Jeffery Simmons (hamstring) and CB L’Jarius Sneed (quadriceps) remain out. WR Calvin Ridley (hamstring) also missed time. RB Tony Pollard and G Kevin Zeitler received rest days. Edge rusher Arden Key (quadricep) did not practice.


Colts: OT Braden Smith (rest), CB Kenny Moore II (Achilles), DE Tyquan Lewis (groin), and DE Samson Ebukam (knee) were absent. WR Josh Downs (concussion) was limited.



Dallas Cowboys at Denver Broncos (-3.5)

Cowboys: CB Trevon Diggs (concussion) and S Donovan Wilson (elbow/shoulder) were out. C Cooper Beebe (ankle), LB DeMarvion Overshown (knee), and DT Kenny Clark (elbow) were limited. Overshown is set to participate in team drills Thursday.


Broncos: LB Jonah Elliss (shoulder) was limited, and OT Mike McGlinchey (foot/ankle) practiced in full.



Green Bay Packers (-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers

Packers: WR Dontayvion Wicks (calf) did not practice. WR Jayden Reed remains on IR. WR Christian Watson (ACL) returned in a limited role. RB Josh Jacobs (calf) and T Zach Tom (back) were limited, while K Brandon McManus (quad) missed practice.


Steelers: WR Calvin Austin III (shoulder) returned in full. C Zach Frazier (calf) was limited. DE T.J. Watt and DT Cameron Heyward took veteran rest days.



Washington Commanders at Kansas City Chiefs (-12.5)
