NFL Week 8 Sunday Injury Watch: 10 Fantasy Decisions Before Kickoff
Sunday’s NFL Week 8 slate has 12 games and an unusually concentrated group of fantasy decisions. The official league injury report lists key running backs, wide receivers and tight ends as questionable, while several other starters have already been ruled out. This guide separates confirmed absences from true game-time calls and organizes the decisions by kickoff window.
Factual cutoff: Football Nation checked the official NFL Week 8 injury report and the linked team sources on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 3:03 AM Central, before the first inactive lists were released. Fantasy recommendations use half PPR scoring for running backs, wide receivers and tight ends, with no return yardage bonuses, unless noted. Official game day inactives are normally announced about 90 minutes before kickoff. For the 1 p.m. ET games, set a reminder for roughly 11:30 a.m. ET; the 4:05 and 4:25 p.m. games begin their inactive window around 2:35 to 2:55 p.m. ET; Sunday Night Football's list should arrive around 6:50 p.m. ET.
How to use this Week 8 injury watch
“Out” means the player should already be removed from fantasy lineups. “Questionable” is not a prediction that the player will sit; it means managers should preserve a same-window pivot. Where a direct replacement lacks a stable role, the safer move is usually a healthy starter from the same kickoff window instead of guessing at a backup.
1 p.m. ET decisions
1. Breece Hall, Jets RB — questionable (quad)
Hall has 163 rushing yards and one touchdown on 51 carries in three games, plus 10 catches for 102 yards. The Jets have also given Braelon Allen 91 carries for 418 yards and two scores, so an active Hall is better treated as an RB2 or flex than an automatic bell-cow. If Hall is inactive, Allen becomes the clearer volume play; Isaiah Davis is a deeper-league fallback.
2. Jakobi Meyers, Jaguars WR — questionable (hamstring/ankle)
Meyers carries two injuries into Jacksonville’s early game against Indianapolis. Because his status should be known before the main Sunday slate, managers do not need to accept a zero: keep an early-window receiver ready. If Meyers sits, Jacksonville’s established pass catchers gain target-consolidation appeal, but a healthy comparable starter is safer than forcing an unproven replacement into season-long lineups.
3. Calvin Ridley, Titans WR — questionable (hip)
Ridley has five catches for 81 yards and no touchdowns in six games, and Tennessee has already ruled out wide receiver Carnell Tate and running back Tyjae Spears. If active, Ridley remains a volatile flex rather than a must-start. If inactive, the cleanest fantasy response is to pivot away from the Titans’ passing game unless league depth makes that impossible.
4. George Pickens, Cowboys WR — questionable (shoulder/hamstring)
Pickens has produced 37 catches for 485 yards and two touchdowns through seven games. Dallas has already ruled out KaVontae Turpin. If Pickens is active, his 13.1 yards per catch keeps him in WR2 territory; if he sits, CeeDee Lamb’s target ceiling rises and Ryan Flournoy — 27 catches, 304 yards and one score — becomes a more credible deep-league option.
5. Dalton Kincaid and DJ Moore, Bills — both questionable
Kincaid is questionable with a chest injury after posting 23 receptions for 315 yards and one touchdown in six games. Moore is questionable with a shoulder injury, and Tyrell Shavers is out. An active Kincaid remains a viable tight-end start; if he is inactive, use a healthy tight end rather than waiting without a later pivot. Buffalo’s final pass-catcher count also matters for Josh Allen stacks and one-game formats.
6. Falcons-Buccaneers confirmed absences
Atlanta running back Brian Robinson and Tampa Bay receiver Emeka Egbuka are out. Buccaneers running back Kenny Gainwell is questionable, but Bucky Irving practiced fully Friday and carries no game designation. Irving’s role is the cleaner Tampa backfield play, while Chris Godwin’s route and target outlook improves without Egbuka. Atlanta managers should verify the team’s active backs before assigning Robinson’s work.
Late-afternoon decisions
7. Colby Parkinson, Rams TE — questionable (rib)
Parkinson plays at 4:05 p.m. ET, after the early games lock. Managers using him as a streamer need a late-game or Sunday-night tight end available. If no credible pivot exists, starting a healthy early-window tight end is the safer roster-management decision.
8. Jaylen Waddle, Broncos WR — questionable (chest)
Waddle’s 4:25 p.m. ET status creates one of the slate’s harder timing problems. Do not leave him in a flex spot without a late-window replacement. Denver has also ruled out running back RJ Harvey, which raises Jonah Coleman’s workload opportunity regardless of Waddle’s status, though opportunity is not a guarantee of touches.
9. Patriots without A.J. Brown and TreVeyon Henderson
New England downgraded Brown and Henderson to out Saturday. The Patriots say Rhamondre Stevenson has played 64.8% of the offensive snaps over the last four games and 68% in Week 7. In Week 1 with the same three-back group available, Stevenson played 85.1% of the snaps, Corey Kiner 11.9% and Lan Larison 3%. Stevenson is the clear workload-based fantasy winner; Kiner is a deep-league contingency. In the passing game, DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism III, Kyle Williams and tight ends Hunter Henry and Eli Raridon are the available target pool.
Sunday Night Football decision
10. Eagles thin at receiver; Commanders thin inside
Philadelphia has ruled out DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks and Britain Covey. Washington has ruled out defensive tackles Javon Kinlaw, Jer’Zhan Newton and Daron Payne. The safest fantasy takeaway is to trust Philadelphia’s established core and avoid chasing a speculative replacement receiver. The Commanders’ interior losses also improve the environment for the Eagles’ rushing attack. Sunday-night-only managers should recheck Treylon Burks, who is questionable for Washington with a foot injury.
Final Week 8 fantasy checklist
Before 11:30 a.m. ET: check Hall, Meyers, Ridley, Pickens, Kincaid and Moore. Before the late window: check Parkinson and Waddle, and lock in Stevenson’s increased role with Henderson out. Before 6:50 p.m. ET: confirm the Eagles-Commanders inactive list. Keep questionable players in flex spots when possible so a running back, receiver or tight end can replace them.
