Ravens Sign Kyle Hergel, Elevate Adisa Isaac After Tavius Robinson Injury
The Baltimore Ravens made two connected depth moves before Sunday's AFC North game against the Cincinnati Bengals: Kyle Hergel was signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, while outside linebacker Adisa Isaac was elevated for game day. The moves address different needs, but both are tied to Baltimore's Week 7 availability picture.
The Ravens' official Saturday update says Hergel's promotion followed his third consecutive practice-squad elevation in Week 6, exhausting his standard elevations. Baltimore also elevated Isaac after placing Tavius Robinson on injured reserve with a season-ending pectoral injury.
What the Ravens changed
Kyle Hergel: signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.
Adisa Isaac: elevated from the practice squad for the Bengals game.
Tavius Robinson: placed on injured reserve after a season-ending pectoral injury.
Lamar Jackson: ruled out, leaving Tyler Huntley to start for a third straight game.
Hergel's move is permanent unless Baltimore later makes another transaction. Isaac's standard elevation is a one-game mechanism, so his longer-term place on the active roster will depend on how Baltimore manages Robinson's vacant edge snaps in the coming weeks.
Why Kyle Hergel's promotion matters
Hergel is listed at 6-foot-2 and 315 pounds on the official Ravens roster. Baltimore had already used all three of his allowable standard elevations, so signing him to the 53-man roster was the cleanest way to keep him available on game day.
The promotion should not be read as an automatic starting change. Baltimore's final injury report lists Cam Jurgens as a full participant after his concussion, while guards Vega Ioane and Andrew Vorhees finished the week as full participants. Hergel instead gives the Ravens an active interior reserve who already has recent familiarity with the offense.
That continuity matters with Huntley starting again. Against a divisional opponent, one interior injury or protection adjustment can change the run-game and passing-game plan quickly. Hergel's presence lets Baltimore maintain a trusted emergency option without relying on another temporary call-up.
Adisa Isaac steps into the edge rotation
Robinson's loss is the more significant competitive development. The Ravens' injury update says he will miss the rest of the season, and Baltimore noted that Robinson led the team with 3.5 sacks through six games. Isaac now gets the immediate opportunity to help replace some of that depth.
Isaac is a 6-foot-4, 253-pound third-year outside linebacker from Penn State, according to his official player profile. The Ravens used a third-round pick on him in 2024. His most realistic Week 7 path is rotational edge work and special teams rather than a one-for-one replacement of Robinson's full role.
Baltimore can distribute Robinson's defensive snaps among its established edge players and use Isaac in selected rush or early-down packages. The first useful signal will be whether Isaac is active and how often he plays outside of special teams; an elevation alone does not guarantee a meaningful defensive workload.
Week 7 impact against Cincinnati
The final Ravens injury report lists Robinson out, T.J. Tampa doubtful and Jaylinn Hawkins out. Baltimore therefore enters the divisional matchup with pressure on both its edge rotation and secondary depth.
For the offense, Hergel is insurance behind a line that must support Huntley and keep the run game on schedule. For the defense, Isaac adds a fresh body to a front that cannot replace Robinson's 3.5 sacks and edge-setting work with a single player. Baltimore's plan is more likely to be a committee than a direct handoff.
Fantasy football and IDP outlook
Kyle Hergel: No standalone fantasy value. His promotion is a depth safeguard, not a reason to materially change projections for Derrick Henry or Tyler Huntley.
Adisa Isaac: A watch-list name only in deep IDP formats. Managers need a confirmed defensive snap role before considering him for lineups.
Ravens D/ST: Still usable in matchup-based formats, but Robinson's absence lowers the edge rotation's floor. Isaac's elevation helps depth more than it restores Robinson's proven production.
Sunday checkpoint: Check the inactive list and first-quarter rotation. Isaac's defensive usage, not the transaction itself, will determine whether he becomes an actionable IDP add.
What comes next
Hergel now has a 53-man roster place and can dress without another elevation. Isaac's status resets after the Bengals game, so Baltimore must decide whether to elevate him again, sign him permanently or use another edge option. The most important follow-up will be snap share: Hergel's availability is about interior protection depth, while Isaac's defensive workload will show how much responsibility the Ravens believe he can absorb.
