Official Week 6 inactive-list update

Indianapolis listed Tyler Warren inactive against Tennessee because of the groin injury that surfaced Friday. Fantasy managers must pivot away from Warren. Will Mallory, Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree can divide the position's work, but no official source established a one-for-one replacement workload before kickoff. Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans after a groin injury made him a limited participant in Friday practice. The timing matters: Warren had just produced his best game of the season and had re-established himself as one of Indianapolis’ most important short-area and red-zone weapons.

Fantasy managers should prepare two plans. If Warren is active without a pregame setback, his reception volume keeps him in the starting TE1 range. If he is inactive, Indianapolis does not have one replacement who inherits his complete role. Will Mallory, Mo Alie-Cox and Pharaoh Brown would divide the tight end work, while Josh Downs, Keenan Allen and Jonathan Taylor could absorb the most valuable touches.

What the Colts officially reported

The Colts’ final Week 6 injury update lists Warren as questionable with a groin injury after a limited Friday practice. The same official article was updated Saturday to confirm that Will Mallory was activated from injured reserve and his questionable designation was lifted. Linebacker Jaylon Carlies and wide receiver Ashton Dulin were ruled out.

Warren's late week injury still creates a real Sunday decision, but Mallory's status is now settled. Indianapolis activated Mallory from injured reserve and removed his questionable designation. That makes Mallory the clearest receiving replacement if Warren sits, although the Colts could still divide routes, blocking work and red zone snaps.

Why Warren’s availability matters

Warren has 30 receptions for 213 yards through five games. Indianapolis’ own comparison notes that he had 23 catches for 307 yards at the same point last season, while his average yards after the catch has fallen from 6.2 to 4.3. The efficiency is down, but the extra receptions show that the Colts still want the ball in his hands.

The most recent game restored the ceiling. Warren caught seven passes for 83 yards and added a one-yard rushing touchdown against Pittsburgh. The Colts’ feature on Warren described it as his biggest performance of 2026, and the game report confirms he led Indianapolis with seven catches and 83 receiving yards.

That usage is difficult to replace because Warren is more than an inline tight end. Indianapolis can move him around the formation, target him underneath and use him as a designed runner near the goal line. Losing him would remove a player who helps Daniel Jones identify coverage and gives the offense a large target in condensed areas.

Fantasy football plan if Warren plays

Start Warren in most leagues if he is active and there is no report of a restricted role. Thirty catches in five games create a useful reception floor, and last week showed that the touchdown ceiling still exists even when the passing offense struggles to generate explosive plays. In full PPR formats, that volume is especially valuable at a volatile position.

The strongest argument for caution is the late-week nature of the injury. Warren was added to the report after being hurt in practice, and groin injuries can affect route speed, change of direction and yards after the catch. Managers with another healthy top-10 option do not need to accept that uncertainty. Everyone else should treat an active Warren as a lower-end TE1 rather than benching him automatically.

Fantasy football plan if Warren is inactive

Do not assume that the next tight end on the depth chart becomes Warren. Mallory has been activated and cleared after practicing fully throughout the week, which gives him the strongest path to extra routes if Warren sits. Alie-Cox is a dependable blocker and situational receiver. Brown joined the 53 man roster Tuesday and brings extensive NFL experience, but Indianapolis did not sign him to reproduce Warren's target profile.

In ordinary one tight end leagues, all three are emergency streamers rather than confident replacements. Mallory has the best receiving path and his availability is now confirmed. Alie-Cox and Brown are still more likely to split routes, blocking work and red zone snaps than to consolidate Warren's full fantasy role.

The better volume bets may be elsewhere. Downs and Allen would be natural candidates for additional short and intermediate targets. Taylor could gain another red-zone touch if Indianapolis loses Warren’s designed scoring package. Those shifts would raise opportunity slightly, but they would not turn every Colts skill player into an automatic upgrade.

What Warren’s status means for Daniel Jones

Jones remains a matchup-based fantasy option, but Warren’s absence would lower the quarterback’s margin for error. The tight end supplies quick completions against pressure and gives Jones a large target when the field shrinks. Without Warren, Indianapolis may lean more heavily on Taylor and ask its wide receivers to win a larger share of third-down routes.

That could still produce a functional offense against Tennessee, but it creates a less efficient path. Jones would lose one of his safest chain-moving options while the Colts try to repair a red-zone attack that settled for five field goals last week.

Sunday lineup checklist

Check the Colts' inactive list roughly 90 minutes before kickoff. If Warren is active, confirm that there is no report of a snap restriction and keep him in most starting lineups. If Warren is out, Mallory is available and becomes the most direct receiving replacement, but the Colts can still distribute the work rather than hand him Warren's complete role.

Bottom line

Warren's questionable designation creates a real fantasy decision because the injury occurred late in the week. Mallory is now activated and available, which improves Indianapolis' replacement depth without guaranteeing that he inherits Warren's complete role. If Warren plays, his target volume and red zone versatility justify a start. If he sits, the Colts are still likely to divide work rather than create another automatic TE1.
