Andrew Ogletree Questionable vs. Jaguars: Colts TE and Fantasy Impact

Indianapolis Colts tight end Andrew “Drew” Ogletree is questionable for Sunday’s Week 8 road game against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of a knee injury. His practice trend moved in the wrong direction: limited Wednesday, limited Thursday and out Friday.

The more important fantasy update is reassuring. Tyler Warren, who was limited Wednesday and Thursday with a groin issue, practiced fully Friday. Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Warren is good to go. That keeps Indianapolis’ primary receiving tight end in line for his normal role.

What the final Colts injury report says

Ogletree’s Friday DNP is the key development. A questionable label leaves him eligible to play, but the late-week downgrade means fantasy managers should not assume he will be active. Indianapolis will release its inactive list about 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Andrew Ogletree: knee — limited Wednesday, limited Thursday, did not practice Friday, questionable.

  • Tyler Warren: groin — limited Wednesday, limited Thursday, full Friday, no game designation.

  • Anthony Gould: concussion — out.

  • Justin Walley: knee — out.

Colts tight end depth chart if Ogletree sits

The Colts list Warren first at tight end, followed by Mo Alie-Cox, Ogletree, Will Mallory and Pharaoh Brown. If Ogletree is inactive, Alie-Cox is the likeliest veteran to absorb blocking and secondary tight-end work, while Mallory or Brown could dress for additional depth.

That is not the same as a bankable fantasy role. Ogletree has three receptions for 16 yards and no touchdowns in seven games this season. Two of those catches, for 12 yards, came last week at Minnesota. His absence would alter formations and snaps more than it would redistribute a meaningful target share.

Fantasy football impact: start Warren, wait on everyone else

Warren remains the only Colts tight end who belongs in standard fantasy lineups. He leads Indianapolis with 30 receptions and has 213 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns through seven games. The second-year tight end also has a rushing touchdown, giving him scoring paths that the reserve tight ends have not shown.

Ogletree should stay on benches even if active. In deep tight-end-premium leagues, Alie-Cox is only an emergency option if Ogletree is ruled out; his current line is four catches for 31 yards and one touchdown. Mallory and Brown are watch-list names, not recommended Week 8 starts.

Matchup context: Colts at Jaguars

Indianapolis visits Jacksonville on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. ET on CBS. The Colts are 2-5, while the Jaguars lead the AFC South at 4-2. Jacksonville has been strong in the red zone and at creating takeaways, making Warren’s short-area usage more valuable than chasing an uncertain reserve-tight-end touchdown.

The Colts enter the game averaging 22 points and 298 yards per game. Jacksonville averages 25.7 points and 347.7 yards. Indianapolis will need sustained drives, and Warren’s team-leading reception total makes him a central part of that plan regardless of Ogletree’s final status.

What fantasy managers should do before kickoff

  1. Keep Tyler Warren in lineups unless a new setback is reported; he has no game designation.

  2. Check the Colts’ inactive list around 11:30 a.m. ET for Ogletree’s final status.

  3. Do not add a backup Colts tight end in standard leagues solely because Ogletree is questionable.

  4. In deep or tight-end-premium formats, consider Alie-Cox only as an emergency touchdown-dependent play if Ogletree is inactive.

Bottom line: Ogletree’s knee injury matters to Indianapolis’ personnel packages, but it does not create a clear fantasy replacement. Warren is cleared, productive and still the focal point of the Colts’ tight-end passing game.

Editorial context

Factual cutoff: October 31, 2026 at 3:14:06 AM CDT. Football Nation checked the Colts final injury report, official player statistics, Week 8 depth chart, the Colts and Jaguars game centers, the NFL injury report and Jaguars reporting at that time.

Strongest counterargument: Ogletree could still be active and retain his normal secondary role because questionable is not an inactive designation. That would reduce any added work for Mo Alie-Cox, Will Mallory or Pharaoh Brown.

Fantasy scoring basis: Standard PPR scoring, with one point per reception, 0.1 point per receiving yard and six points per receiving or rushing touchdown.

Next checkpoint: Indianapolis is expected to release its inactive list about 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday. That list will settle Ogletree's availability and any last minute depth change.
