Bryce Young Practices Fully Again: Week 7 Fantasy Outlook vs. Buccaneers

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young was a full participant in Thursday's practice despite being listed with a knee issue, matching his full workload from Wednesday. That two-day progression is the clearest signal yet that the injury is not limiting his Week 7 preparation for Sunday's NFC South matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Young still needs to get through Friday and receive a final game designation, but fantasy managers do not need to treat the knee listing as a reason to bench him right now. His recent production and this matchup keep him firmly in the QB1 conversation.

Bryce Young's Week 7 injury status

The NFL's official Thursday injury report listed Young as a full participant. He was also full on Wednesday, so there has been no practice downgrade or rep restriction through the first two sessions of the week.

A late-week setback would change the equation, but consecutive full practices usually matter more for fantasy decisions than the mere presence of a player on the injury report. Managers should still check Friday's final report and the Sunday inactive list before locking lineups.

Why Young is a strong fantasy start

Young enters Week 7 with 1,549 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and only two interceptions on 121-of-201 passing. His 98.5 passer rating reflects a meaningful jump in efficiency, while his 309.8 passing yards per game lead the NFL through Carolina's first five games.

He is also coming off a clean Week 6 performance: 20 completions on 39 attempts for 281 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Carolina's offense has increasingly asked him to win through volume, and his ability to avoid negative plays has raised both his weekly floor and ceiling.

Matchup impact: Panthers vs. Buccaneers

Carolina brings a 3-2 record into the divisional matchup, while Tampa Bay is 1-5. The Panthers have built the league's most productive passing attack by yards per game, and the Buccaneers must account for a quarterback who has produced at least 281 passing yards in every start this season.

Tampa Bay's front can still disrupt a game, so protection remains the main swing factor. Young has shown he can sustain production even when pressured, but quick-game throws and early-down efficiency will be important if the Buccaneers create obvious passing situations.

Fantasy football recommendation

• Start Young as a low-end QB1 with top-eight upside in one-quarterback leagues.

• In superflex formats, he is a clear must-start unless Friday brings an unexpected setback.

• Tetairoa McMillan remains a high-end fantasy option after producing 471 receiving yards on 32 catches through five games.

• Do not make a contingency quarterback claim solely because Young appears on the injury report; two full practices substantially reduce the concern.

What to monitor before kickoff

The final injury report on Friday is the next checkpoint. If Young remains full and carries no game designation, fantasy managers can start him normally. If he is downgraded or added with a new limitation, revisit the decision before Sunday's inactive list is released.

For now, the combination of full practice participation, elite passing volume and efficient touchdown production makes Young one of the more attractive Week 7 quarterback plays.
