Ravens at Browns Week 6 Guide: Huntley Starts as AFC North Race Tightens
Baltimore visits Cleveland on Sunday, October 18 at noon Central on FOX. The Ravens are 4 and 1, the Browns are 3 and 2, and the most important fact is settled: Lamar Jackson is out with an ankle injury and Tyler Huntley will start again.
Factual cutoff: October 16, 2026 at 4:32 PM Central. Season statistics cover completed games through Week 5. Market numbers below are dated public snapshots, not authenticated executable offers. Football Nation opinion, fantasy guidance and the score prediction are labeled as analysis.
The quarterback change defines the game
The NFL reported Friday that Jackson will miss a second straight game and Huntley will make his thirteenth Baltimore start. Huntley completed 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 5 overtime win at Atlanta, then scored the winning touchdown on a one yard run. That finish showed he can keep the offense on schedule, but his season profile is different from Jackson's. Huntley has averaged 6.4 yards per attempt, while Jackson averaged 10.1 before the injury.
That shifts Baltimore toward Derrick Henry, controlled throws and Huntley's mobility. Henry has 476 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. Cleveland can answer by crowding the box and asking Huntley to win outside, but that plan is harder if the Browns cannot keep their interior defensive rotation fresh.
Friday injury report
Baltimore ruled out Jackson, Matthew Hibner, Cam Jurgens and Broderick Washington. Zay Flowers was limited Friday but did not receive a game designation. Rashod Bateman and Mark Andrews practiced fully and also carry no designation. Ja'Kobi Lane, Emery Jones Jr. and Andrew Vorhees are questionable.
Cleveland ruled out Kalia Davis, Dillon Gabriel, Mike Hall Jr., Teven Jenkins and Dylan Sampson. Derek Barnett, Mason Graham, Quinshon Judkins and Carson Schwesinger are questionable. Judkins being available would matter because he leads Cleveland with 221 rushing yards, while Sampson is already out. If Judkins cannot play or is limited, Raheim Sanders and Jaleel McLaughlin become the practical backfield alternatives.
The Sunday inactive list remains the next checkpoint. A questionable designation is not a promise of normal snaps.
When Baltimore has the ball
Baltimore has produced 1,971 offensive yards at 6.1 yards per play, including 822 rushing yards at 5.1 per attempt. Those figures give the Ravens a strong foundation even without Jackson. Cleveland has allowed 1,670 yards and 4.5 yards per rush. Graham leads the Browns with four sacks, so his status has consequences for both the run front and the interior pass rush.
The best Cleveland answer is early down success. If Henry repeatedly creates second and short, Huntley can operate from favorable play action and use his legs when coverage turns away. If the Browns force third and long, they can compress a passing game that loses Jackson's explosive efficiency. Baltimore should still involve Flowers, whose 405 receiving yards lead the team, but his ceiling depends on Huntley converting more than short completions.
When Cleveland has the ball
The Browns have gained 1,368 yards at 4.5 per play. Deshaun Watson has thrown for 1,010 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions, but he has also taken 19 sacks. Baltimore has allowed 1,628 total yards and owns a plus three turnover margin. The Ravens do not need to chase sacks on every snap. They need to make Cleveland string together clean possessions.
Denzel Boston is Cleveland's primary explosive threat with 330 receiving yards and three touchdowns on only 16 catches. Harold Fannin Jr. has three receiving touchdowns on 18 catches. Baltimore must defend the deep ball without giving Watson an easy middle of the field outlet. Cleveland's strongest counter is a balanced opening script that slows the rush and creates isolated chances for Boston.
Fantasy football consequence
Henry remains the best fantasy starter in this matchup because his rushing and scoring roles are stable. Huntley is a Superflex or emergency option, not a direct replacement for Jackson's fantasy ceiling. Flowers remains playable, though managers should lower the expectation for explosive passing volume. Andrews is a touchdown dependent tight end option rather than a volume lock.
Watson is a riskier single quarterback league start because Baltimore can pressure him and Cleveland has not created consistent efficiency. Boston carries the most receiving upside, but his small catch total makes the weekly floor fragile. Fannin remains relevant in tight end formats. Judkins needs a final availability check, and his managers should retain a contingency plan rather than assume a full workload.
Market context and price sensitivity
A FOX Sports article updated October 15 listed Baltimore minus 5.5, Ravens moneyline minus 245, Browns moneyline plus 200 and a total of 42.5. ESPN's page showed Baltimore minus 6.5 when checked October 16. These are published public snapshots from different times, not a live consensus and not executable quotes.
Football Nation would not lay more than 3.5 with Huntley starting. Cleveland becomes interesting only at plus 5.5 or better, and the total becomes an under consideration only at 42.5 or higher. Those are editorial price limits, not guarantees. The uncertainty around Judkins, Cleveland's defensive front and final weather supports patience.
Prediction
Football Nation prediction: Ravens 23, Browns 20.
Baltimore owns the better rushing profile, the better overall efficiency and a defense capable of forcing Cleveland to complete long drives. Huntley should be competent enough to let Henry and the defense carry the structure. The strongest counterargument is divisional familiarity combined with Cleveland's home field and Baltimore's missing quarterback. If Graham and Judkins are active and effective, the Browns can turn this into the exact low margin game that makes a large Ravens spread uncomfortable.
