Week 5 Top 10 Fantasy Quarterbacks: Drake Maye Leads the Sunday Edition
Drake Maye is the Week 5 fantasy quarterback leader through the completed Sunday slate. His five total touchdowns separated him from a group that included rushing driven production from Jayden Daniels and efficient multi score games from Jared Goff, Jameis Winston and Joe Burrow. The practical answer is to start Maye everywhere, keep Daniels in the weekly elite tier, and treat the lower half of this list as matchup dependent unless their volume persists.
Information cutoff: all Week 5 games final through Sunday, October 11, 2026. Bills at Rams on Monday night is not included. Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford can still change the final weekly order, so this is the Sunday edition and will require a Monday update after the official final.
Scoring and ranking method
Quarterback fantasy scoring uses one point per 25 passing yards, four points per passing touchdown, minus one point per interception, one point per 10 rushing yards, six points per rushing touchdown and two points per successful conversion. Reception scoring does not change quarterback totals here, so standard, half PPR and full PPR are identical.
Official snap and route participation data were not complete at the publication cutoff. Football Nation does not estimate those fields. Carries, targets, receptions, yardage and touchdowns below come from the completed box scores, and participation detail will be added after the official records are available.
1. Drake Maye, New England Patriots
Maye completed 26 of 34 passes for 374 yards and four touchdowns, then added 25 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. That produces 39.5 fantasy points in standard, half PPR and full PPR formats. He also led the Week 4 list with 27.2, so the baseline is already strong. The volume and rushing role look sustainable, but five touchdowns on 41 combined pass attempts and carries will regress. Action: start against the Jets. Strongest counterargument: New England may not need another shootout.
2. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
Daniels completed 17 of 25 passes for 199 yards with no passing touchdown or interception, then ran nine times for 103 yards and two scores. He finished with 30.3 points in all three formats. The rushing workload gives him a weekly ceiling even when the passing total is modest. Action: start at San Francisco on Monday in Week 6. Strongest counterargument: two rushing touchdowns masked a scoreless passing day, so the floor falls if designed runs or goal line access decline.
3. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
Goff went 19 of 30 for 271 yards and three passing touchdowns, plus one rushing yard and a rushing score. His 28.9 points follow a Week 4 total of 20.5, which confirms a sturdy passing baseline. Action: hold through Detroit's Week 6 bye. Strongest counterargument: the rushing touchdown is not a repeatable part of his profile, and 19 completions create a narrower floor when touchdown efficiency cools.
4. Jameis Winston, New York Giants
Winston completed 33 of 54 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, adding 27 rushing yards on five carries. That is 27.7 points in every format after a 20.0 point Week 4. The 54 attempts are the clearest signal, but they also reflect an unusual game environment. Action: stream or start in superflex against New Orleans. Strongest counterargument: a lower volume game would expose the risk in an aggressive passing style.
5. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
Burrow completed 23 of 32 passes for 190 yards and four touchdowns without an interception, plus 10 rushing yards. He scored 24.6 points in all formats after 25.7 in Week 4. The touchdown conversion was exceptional relative to the yardage, while the accuracy and red zone execution support the QB1 baseline. Action: hold through the Week 6 bye. Strongest counterargument: four scores on 190 yards is unlikely to repeat without more downfield volume.
6. Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals
Brissett completed 29 of 47 passes for 292 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, adding 19 rushing yards. He scored 24.6 points in standard, half PPR and full PPR. His value came from 49 combined attempts and carries, making volume the important baseline rather than efficiency. Action: use in superflex at the Rams, but do not chase him as a locked single quarterback starter. Strongest counterargument: negative game script may have created a one week attempt spike.
7. Tyler Huntley, Baltimore Ravens
Huntley completed 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns, then added 20 rushing yards and another score on six carries. He produced 24.0 points across formats. The rushing component is repeatable enough to keep him relevant while he starts. Action: consider as a Week 6 streamer at Cleveland if his role is confirmed. Strongest counterargument: three touchdowns on modest yardage leave little margin if Baltimore's red zone conversion falls.
8. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
Love completed 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns without an interception, adding six rushing yards. His 23.3 points were built on both efficiency and explosive passing, not inflated rushing production. Action: start against Dallas in Week 6. Strongest counterargument: 11.8 yards per attempt is difficult to sustain, and a more balanced game plan could cut the yardage even if the offense remains efficient.
9. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Lawrence completed 24 of 39 passes for 331 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while adding 25 yards on three carries. He scored 22.7 points in all formats. The 42 combined attempts and carries provide a useful volume baseline. Action: stream against Houston in London when a safer elite option is unavailable. Strongest counterargument: the interception and sub 62 percent completion rate show why the weekly floor remains volatile.
10. Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
Rodgers completed 22 of 31 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns without an interception, adding six rushing yards. He scored 22.0 points in all formats after 24.0 in Week 4. The scoring streak supports a startable baseline, but the yardage still depends heavily on touchdowns. Action: start in superflex and consider in one quarterback leagues at Tampa Bay. Strongest counterargument: a two touchdown day would have left him outside this top ten.
Monday night update still pending
No Bills or Rams player appears in this Sunday list. The final Week 5 quarterback order must be recalculated after the Monday game is official, especially if Josh Allen or Matthew Stafford posts a top ten total.
Football Nation conclusion
Maye and Daniels supplied the strongest combination of production and repeatable rushing value, but Maye's four passing scores are the least stable part of his line. Goff and Burrow remain automatic starters when active even though both are headed to a Week 6 bye. The next checkpoint is Monday's final, followed by official participation reports and Wednesday practice availability.
