Week 6 Top 10 Fantasy Quarterbacks: Lawrence Leads, Shough Surges
Trevor Lawrence and Tyler Shough finished less than half a point apart, but they did not get there the same way. Lawrence supplied passing volume and four touchdown throws. Shough turned only 144 passing yards into a four touchdown fantasy day by adding a rushing score. That distinction matters more for next week's decision than their neighboring ranks.
Information cutoff: the 2026 Week 6 Thursday game on October 15 and every Sunday game on October 18, including Dallas at Green Bay, are final and included. Washington at San Francisco on Monday, October 19 is pending and excluded. Research cutoff: October 19, 2026 at 4:17:21 a.m. Central. This is the Sunday edition, not the final full week order.
Scoring and how to read this board
Quarterbacks receive 0.04 points per passing yard, four per passing touchdown, 0.1 per rushing or receiving yard and six per rushing or receiving touchdown. Interceptions cost two points. Standard adds no reception bonus, half PPR adds 0.5 per catch and full PPR adds one. None of these ten recorded a reception, so their three totals match. No yardage bonuses, first down bonuses or return yardage points are included. Lost fumbles cost two points. Successful two point passes, runs or receptions earn two points; conversion plays do not also earn normal yardage or reception points. Figures are calculated from the underlying statistics rather than copied from a provider's fantasy points column.

1. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Lawrence went 24 of 41 for 306 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, adding 11 yards on three carries. The useful baseline is last week's 331 passing yards with two scores: the workload stayed high, but touchdown conversion drove the increase. FN analysis: hold through Jacksonville's Week 7 bye, not an automatic trade purchase at his weekly peak. Counterargument: repeated passing volume can support another strong finish even if four touchdowns disappear. Checkpoint: the next active week, with red zone execution and turnover avoidance more important than this rank.
Evidence and prior baseline: player record or official team report
2. Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints
Shough completed 16 of 30 for 144 yards and three touchdowns, then supplied 32 rushing yards and another score on five carries. That followed a game with no passing touchdowns. FN analysis: a superflex option against Pittsburgh in Paris, not a newly automatic single quarterback starter. Four touchdowns on modest yardage make this the board's clearest efficiency warning. Counterargument: rushing near the goal line gives him a second way to score. Checkpoint: practice availability and whether New Orleans can sustain drives without short fields.
Evidence and prior baseline: player record or official team report
3. Drake Maye, New England Patriots
Maye produced 235 yards and three touchdowns on 18 completions in 32 attempts, plus four carries for 24 yards. Last week's four passing touchdowns were a higher ceiling, but this was another productive result. The Patriots' own analysis credited him with 0.39 EPA per dropback. FN analysis: start consideration at Chicago on Thursday. Counterargument: three offensive linemen left Sunday's game, and a short week limits recovery time. Checkpoint: official availability for the line and Romeo Doubs, rather than assuming Sunday's protection will transfer.
Evidence and prior baseline: player record or official team report
4. Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons
Penix completed 19 of 33 for 225 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. One rushing yard added almost nothing; two successful two point passes added four points, and a lost fumble subtracted two. His previous game had one passing touchdown. FN analysis: keep him in the superflex discussion against San Francisco, but do not project another conversion bonus. Counterargument: the late rally showed a playable passing ceiling. Checkpoint: pass protection after five sacks, plus health updates and whether Atlanta can create offense before trailing heavily.
Evidence and prior baseline: player record or official team report
5. C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
Stroud completed 24 of 34 for 312 yards, three touchdowns and an interception, adding five rushing yards. He again attempted 34 passes, matching Week 5, but generated much more through the air. FN analysis: a credible starter candidate against the Giants, with a stronger passing case than rushing floor. Counterargument: two touchdowns went to Foster Moreau, and red zone conversion can vary even with good overall execution. Checkpoint: how Houston distributes opportunities as its receiving group settles, not an assumption that every useful receiver will score.
Evidence and prior baseline: player record or official team report
6. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
Love finished 23 of 41 for 276 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Four carries for 12 yards and a touchdown rescued the fantasy result. He had thrown for 367 yards in his previous game. FN analysis: retain a starting option at Detroit, while recognizing the rushing score as a bonus rather than his baseline. Counterargument: Green Bay's official recap described missed touchdown opportunities, so the passing line could have been better. Checkpoint: protection, accuracy and conversion of those chances.
Evidence and prior baseline: player record or official team report
7. Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
Young completed 20 of 39 for 281 yards and two scores without an interception, adding six yards on three runs. His previous appearance also featured two passing touchdowns, making this less of an isolated scoring spike than Shough's result. FN analysis: consider him a Week 7 streamer against Tampa Bay after comparing actual alternatives. Counterargument: only 20 completions on that attempt volume leaves room for a disappointing efficiency day. Checkpoint: practice health and whether Carolina can preserve both passing volume and its productive running game.
Evidence and prior baseline: player record or official team report
8. Kirk Cousins, Las Vegas Raiders
Cousins went 23 of 41 for 313 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, with no rushing production. The attempt increase from 28 in his previous outing matters more than the narrow finish above Allen. FN analysis: usable in superflex against the Rams, but a low rushing floor still argues against treating him as an automatic starter in every format. Counterargument: the connection with Tre Tucker supplies explosive upside. Checkpoint: continued passing volume and red zone execution, especially if a closer game reduces attempts.
Evidence and prior baseline: player record or official team report
9. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Allen completed 23 of 33 for 255 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Five carries yielded only one yard, a stark contrast with his previous game's 121 rushing yards. FN analysis: hold through Buffalo's Week 7 bye; ninth on a weekly board is not a rest of season downgrade. Counterargument: a heavier James Cook role can occasionally shift scoring away from Allen. Checkpoint: his next active game and designed rushing usage, not an attempt to extrapolate either extreme rushing result.
Evidence and prior baseline: player record or official team report
10. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Stafford completed 25 of 33 for 222 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions or rushing yards. That is a major volume reduction from his previous 54 attempts. He recovered his regular play fumble; the failed conversion try does not create an additional lost fumble deduction in this model. FN analysis: a matchup based starter candidate at Las Vegas. Counterargument: little rushing value makes him dependent on passing opportunities. Checkpoint: drive volume and execution after Arizona repeatedly kept the Rams offense off the field.
Evidence and prior baseline: player record or official team report
What to do now, and what can still change
Protect the bye week first: Lawrence and Allen are unavailable in Week 7. Do not trade away an established starter simply because Shough beat him on this retrospective board. Compare the repeatable passing or rushing workload with your available replacement. Next checkpoint: Monday's official final, then the earliest Week 7 practice reports and Thursday's New England at Chicago lineup.
Monday night can change the order at every position. Washington and San Francisco players are not being scored as zero or ruled out of the eventual top ten. This canonical article is the update target after that game; the Sunday table remains explicitly provisional until the final box score is checked.
