Week 8 Top 10 Fantasy Running Backs: Sunday Leaders Before Monday Night Football
Football Nation Week 8 Sunday edition. Completed game cutoff: November 2, 2026 at 4:02 AM Central. The Monday night Bears at Seahawks game is pending and is not included in these rankings.
This ranking is ordered by half PPR points, with standard and full PPR totals shown beside each player. Tyler Allgeier's receiving score created the top finish, while Chuba Hubbard and Josh Jacobs gained the most value as receptions were added.
Scoring and method
Running backs receive one point per 10 rushing or receiving yards, six per rushing or receiving touchdown, minus two per lost fumble, plus zero points per catch in standard, one half point per catch in half PPR, and one point per catch in full PPR.
1. Tyler Allgeier, Arizona Cardinals
11 carries for 147 yards and one touchdown, plus five catches on five targets for 44 yards and one touchdown. Standard 31.10, half PPR 33.60, full PPR 36.10.
Allgeier turned only 16 touches into 191 scrimmage yards and two scores. Five targets and five catches broaden the role, but 13.4 yards per carry will not persist. Arizona visits Seattle next. Fantasy action: start him while the receiving role and scoring chances remain visible, but value workload over the explosive average.
2. Bhayshul Tuten, Jacksonville Jaguars
16 carries for 104 yards and one touchdown, plus two catches on two targets for 55 yards and one touchdown. Standard 27.90, half PPR 28.90, full PPR 29.90.
Tuten handled 18 touches and scored as both a runner and receiver. The 55 receiving yards on two catches raised the ceiling, while 16 carries are the stronger sustainability signal. Jacksonville visits Baltimore on Thursday. Fantasy action: treat him as a confident start if the short week injury report preserves the same role.
3. Tony Pollard, Tennessee Titans
21 carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns, plus three catches on five targets for 20 yards. Standard 25.70, half PPR 27.20, full PPR 28.70.
Pollard carried 21 times and drew five targets, giving him the most balanced repeatable workload near the top of this list. Two rushing touchdowns drove the final rank, but 26 opportunities support a healthy floor. Tennessee is on bye in Week 9. Fantasy action: hold and prepare to restart him after the bye.
4. Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions
23 carries for 153 yards and one touchdown, plus two catches on four targets for 15 yards. Standard 22.80, half PPR 23.80, full PPR 24.80.
Gibbs reached 25 touches and 168 scrimmage yards, with 23 carries showing he can win even without a large receiving total. That workload is above the safest weekly baseline, but his efficiency and role are established. Detroit visits Miami next. Fantasy action: keep him locked in as an elite starter.
5. Braelon Allen, New York Jets
21 carries for 147 yards and one touchdown, plus two catches on two targets for six yards. Standard 21.30, half PPR 22.30, full PPR 23.30.
Allen combined 23 touches with seven yards per carry. The workload is the fantasy takeaway, while the rushing efficiency is likely to move back toward his season norm. The Jets visit Kansas City next. Fantasy action: start him if the backfield report confirms another lead workload, but expect a harder efficiency environment.
6. Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers
22 carries for 81 yards and one touchdown, plus seven catches on eight targets for 38 yards. Standard 17.90, half PPR 21.40, full PPR 24.90.
Hubbard produced the clearest scoring format split in the top ten. Eight targets and seven catches moved him from sixth in half PPR to a much stronger full PPR profile. Carolina visits New Orleans next. Fantasy action: treat him as a high floor starter, especially in full PPR, because 30 opportunities matter more than modest rushing efficiency.
7. Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
27 carries for 170 yards and one touchdown with one lost fumble. Standard 21.00, half PPR 21.00, full PPR 21.00.
Irving had the largest rushing workload on this list and no receiving usage. The lost fumble reduced his score, but 27 carries and 170 yards still created a top ten finish. Tampa Bay visits Chicago next. Fantasy action: start him for volume, while recognizing that his weekly ceiling falls in reception formats if targets stay at zero.
8. Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers
17 carries for 143 yards and one touchdown, plus one catch for no yards on two targets. Standard 20.30, half PPR 20.80, full PPR 21.30.
Warren gained 8.4 yards per carry and scored on 18 touches. The carry total is useful, but the rushing average is the clearest regression point. Pittsburgh is on bye in Week 9. Fantasy action: hold through the bye and verify whether the lead carry share remains intact before the next start.
9. Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers
21 carries for 39 yards and one touchdown, plus six catches on six targets for 13 yards and one touchdown. Standard 17.20, half PPR 20.20, full PPR 23.20.
Jacobs showed why role can beat efficiency. He averaged 1.9 yards per carry, but 27 touches, six catches, and two scores kept him inside the top ten. Green Bay visits New England next. Fantasy action: continue starting him because the workload and scoring role survived a poor rushing day.
10. James Cook III, Buffalo Bills
21 carries for 80 yards and one touchdown, plus two catches on three targets for 21 yards. Standard 16.10, half PPR 17.10, full PPR 18.10.
Cook closed the list with 23 touches and 101 scrimmage yards. His three targets supplied a modest reception floor without changing the core rushing role. Buffalo visits Minnesota on Monday in Week 9. Fantasy action: keep him in lineups as a stable starter, with touchdown access determining the ceiling.
