Scoring and participation notes
Football Nation scoring for this article uses one point per 25 passing yards, four per passing touchdown, minus one per interception, one per 10 rushing yards, six per rushing touchdown and minus two per lost fumble. These are FN calculations under the stated rules, rather than an assertion that every platform uses the same penalties. Reception scoring has no effect on these quarterback lines.
1. Brock Purdy, 49ers — 31.3 points
Purdy completed 15 of 27 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns without an interception, then added 34 rushing yards on two attempts. San Francisco did not need an inside-the-20 pass to produce the four scores. he is a start; the efficiency is volatile, but the rushing and touchdown ceiling are real.
2. Sam Darnold, Seahawks — 29.7 points
Darnold went 31-of-45 for 379 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions, plus five rushing yards. He attempted The Chargers visit next. he is a priority add, though 45 attempts and four touchdowns should not be projected every week.
3. Tyler Shough, Saints — 26.8 points
Shough completed 29 of 42 passes for 255 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, and rushed once for 36 yards. The official Saints recap records one lost Shough fumble. Under the FN scoring rules stated above, those results calculate to 26.8 points. Four passing scores made the day useful, but the late turnover shows why ball security remains part of the evaluation. Atlanta is the next matchup at this report's cutoff. His fantasy use depends on league scoring and the current injury report.
4. Geno Smith, Jets — 26.0 points
Smith completed 31 of 37 for 321 yards and three touchdowns with no interception, and ran twice for 12 yards. Chicago is next. he is a matchup streamer or superflex add; the 83.8% completion rate is the obvious regression flag.
5. Jacoby Brissett, Cardinals — 25.6 points
Brissett completing 38 of 52 for 280 yards and two touchdowns while adding four yards and a rushing score on four carries. He attempted Arizona faces the Giants next. he is a short-term superflex hold; the volume is useful, but his job security controls the recommendation.
6. Bo Nix, Broncos — 25.1 points
Nix finished 17-of-34 for 186 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, with seven rushing yards and another touchdown on four carries. San Francisco is next. hold and start selectively; four total touchdowns masked a modest yardage day.
7. Aaron Rodgers, Steelers — 23.7 points
Rodgers completed 19 of 34 for 292 yards and three touchdowns with one interception, and ran three times for 10 yards. Cleveland is next. he is a superflex or two-QB add, not an automatic one-QB start.
8. Matthew Stafford, Rams — 22.9 points
Stafford threw 55 times, completing 30 for 390 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, with 13 rushing yards on two attempts. The Rams did not record a red-zone passing touchdown for him. Philadelphia is next. hold; the yardage floor remains usable, but 55 attempts came from a comeback script that is unlikely to repeat.
9. Joe Burrow, Bengals — 22.6 points
Burrow completed 28 of 37 for 282 yards and three touchdowns without an interception, ran twice for 13 yards and lost one fumble. Jacksonville is next. he is an every-week start; the action is hold, not sell after a clean three-score performance.
10. Kirk Cousins, Raiders — 22.2 points
Cousins went 22-of-33 for 248 yards and three touchdowns without an interception, and added three rushing yards. He threw three scores on Kansas City is next. he is a superflex add and one-QB streamer, but the Chiefs matchup and touchdown dependence lower the Week 4 ceiling.
Football Nation conclusion
Purdy earned the Sunday QB1, while Darnold created the strongest waiver decision because his volume and connection with Seattle’s receivers were immediately usable. The important restraint is that Monday night is still pending and touchdown rates swing quickly. Start Purdy and Burrow, add Darnold where available, and treat Smith, Brissett, Rodgers and Cousins as format-dependent options rather than permanent QB1s.
